As Christians what should we expect from politics and our political leaders?
The sermon explores the dangers of elevating politics to a position of authority that rightfully belongs to God, drawing from 1 Samuel 8 to illustrate the Israelites' request for a king and the subsequent consequences. It argues that while political engagement is important, Christians should not idolize political leaders or parties, recognizing that earthly rulers are inherently flawed and cannot provide ultimate salvation or justice. Instead, the message emphasizes the need for Christians to understand their role as co-heirs with Christ, actively participating in the world while remaining grounded in biblical principles and seeking God's wisdom to guide their actions, ultimately recognizing Jesus as the true King and source of hope and righteousness.
